Ya Yah

Typically when I go to a bar, and im not in someones back seat, im on a train. I don't really mind trains because I can still have my own space. As I sat at my house cheifing before I had to leave, all I could think about was how crammed the bus was going to be. Buses are not trains. Since MR FYF and DJ FYF were out grinding grabbing an interview with Dezert Eez, I didn't have anyones car to sit in the back of.... shit....

Well paranoia of sitting in a crammed bus definitely got the best of me, so I called a taxi and smoked a little longer. What I didn't expect was the taxi driver to, on some shady shit, take the highway (much longer) and start talking about how he fucks girls he picks up in the back. I said "thats where I'm sitting" he started laughing and said "ya bro I love my job" WHAT THE FYF.

Not only was the taxi ride close to my bar tab, but I left feeling much dirtier than if I had taken the bus. FYF taxi driver and FYF me being to high to realize how much the meter was about 15 minutes earlier.

It was all worth it though. Sin Castle was releasing "Beat Rhyme Crime Spree" which him and I have been perfecting for months, and I had a chance to interview the one and only Ya Yah. Not only is she pretty funny but she can sing her ass off. Right after she sang some godly shit with
Keithen Banks playing guitar, we went outside drink some crazy polish beer and talk about Jelly Beans...

Tell the people who are you

YA YAH

I'm Alicia Ya Yah Townsend

MC FYF

You just performed and killed it

YA YAH

Thanks!

MC FYF

One thing that you do really well, is captivate the audience. From your youtube videos to when your on stage people stop talking and listen.

YA YAH
Well, I dont know about all that...

MC FYF

There is a video of you on youtube, where everyone is talking, your in a black skirt, and you just started doing your thing. Its amazing to watch artists who literally make people stop talking. What message do you want to get across in your music when you have a chance like that?

YA YAH

To me the biggest thing is just being happy. Being yourself and being happy.

MC FYF

Thats a good message. If you could give one piece of advice to the girls out there looking up to you, trying to do the same type of thing, would would it be?

YA YAH

Really, to be yourself and not to let people change you. Your going to run into people who say to dress a certain way and to act certain ways to get attention and have people like you. But, if you stay true to yourself it will come through in the music. Don't let people change you.

MC FYF

If your music was a jelly bean, what flavor would it be?

YA YAH

Like a jelly belly jelly bean?

MC FYF

Ya there is all kinds of flavors, from butterscotch to vomit, theres everything

YA YAH

VOMIT!? who would ever want to have a vomit jelly bean??

MY FYF

hahaha I have no idea, but they make that shit

YA YAH

If my music was a Jelly Bean i'd be a Hennessey one

THIS IS WHEN THE BOUNCER INTERUPTED OUR INTERVIEW TO SAY THAT  THE BAR IS CLOSING AND WE NEEDED TO LEAVE EXIT THROUGH THE BACK (HA) OR THE FRONT (HAHA)

MY FYF

ok, ok, lets go out front... this shits going in the interview

YA YAH

haha ok

WE WALKED OUT FRONT, WHERE EVERYONE ELSE HAPPENED TO BE, AND WALKED OVER TO YA YAH'S FIANCE KEITHEN BANKS TO CONTINUE THE INTERVIEW
MC FYF

Oh perfect! I defintiely wanted to make you part of this interview. You guys just performed an amazing set, with Ya Yah singing and Keithen on the guitar. How do you guys know when to change, or improvise when either of you wants to do something different from what you practiced on stage?

KEITHEN BANKS

It's really just a feeling we have inside. I feel it when she wants to, and she feels it when I want too. There isn't like any signals we give each other, we just know. Music to me is really spiritual. It's what I love to do, so I put my sould in the music. She does the same thing, so its easy to work together.

YA YAH

Yes, we feed off of each other. We both just know when to make a change and its so easy with him. We just connect like that. We actually meet a years ago and connected instantly. He got me into doing street performance, Ketithen is actually a really well known performer in Chicago, hes been at it a long time. We
just came from street performing

MC FYF
Thats pretty cool. I would love to just be walking in the red line and run into you guys doing your thing. You really feed off each other well. If you could say FYF to a person, place or thing, what would it be?

YA YAH

It would have to be the garbage im forced to listen to now on the radio. The music is just so bad.

MY FYF

haha nice. So you just did a track with I.B. Fokuz

YA YAH

YA! You know I.b.? it was with him and Sense, its a great track

MC FYF

I.B. is a dope emcee, I met him a long time ago at Columbia, and he has just been grinding the whole time I know him. To me, it is really cool to see artists I know working together, but better than that, people who really have something to say making good music. Definitely repping Chicago hard.

YA YAH
It was a real fun track to record. I have known I.B. for a long time.

MC FYF
I know you live in the bay now, which State do you call home?

YA YAH

ohhh come on!!! Don't ask questions you know the answer too! Chicago! But, I do love the Bay and the people I have met out there

MC FYF
Where do you feel like you get a better response from your fans?

YA YAH

AH what are you trying to do to me! Since I have not been out there that long, and I have been making music in Chicago for so long, by default, Chicago. But I love my people out in the Bay! I get a good response there is just not the same amount of time put in yet. So, Chicago.

MC FYF

Anything else you want to say to the readers?

YA YAH

Be happy!
